More Love

Day One

Mar 26, 2021

What do you remember about your first day in your current role?

Perhaps it was the nervous energy you felt, the excitement to prove yourself, or the opportunity to make an impact in a new setting.

I love beginnings—there’s so much optimism and energy on that first day.

Unfortunately, a prolonged day-to-day effort slowly pulls us away from that novel level of awareness and engagement.

It can happen quickly, too.

Reach for the nearest Baby Book and look for the picture labeled “Fifteenth Day of School!”

You won’t find it.

But...

What if you were to hit a big ol’ reset button at work? What would you see with fresh new eyes?

> How would “new you” interact with your co-workers, many of whom you don’t REALLY know beyond the basics?

> How would you recommit to your organization’s vision, mission, and values?

> How would you lean into your opportunity to deliver results as part of a shiny new team?

I have a new hire joining my team on Monday.

I’m going to try my best to channel their “First Day at Work!” experience by resetting my own.

I hope you’ll do the same!
